Zinnia Shivaheld (ジニア・シーヴァヘルド Jinia Shīvaherudo?) is the Great Demon King (大魔王 Dai Maō?), the supreme ruler of the Silver Water Holy Sea. He is a powerful figure who rules the Twelve Deep Worlds and is feared even by the other Demon Kings.
Appearance
Zinnia has the appearance of an old man with a long white beard.
History
Zinnia is the conqueror of sorcery who rules the Twelve Deep Worlds and the first one to attain abyss magic in the history of the Silver Water Holy Sea.[1] Only six people in the Silver Water Holy Sea can hold the title of Demon King, and they are merely candidates to succeed Zinnia as the Great Demon King.
To become his successor, a Demon King must conquer seven or more of the Twelve Deep Worlds, which are located closest to the abyss. Any outsider who attempts to enter his territorial waters will be driven out by Zinnia. However, the only exception is the Two-Laws Usurper Noah, who built his own domain there against the rules established by Zinnia. In fact, Zinnia made him an Inviolable Water for the Demon Kings, someone they couldn't lay their hands on.[2]
Synopsis
Godless Continent Arc
When the Third Demon King Heath Tonia brings the Two-Laws Usurper, who is secretly Anos in disguise, for an audience, Zinnia immediately notices his mask but doesn't think much of it. He asks Noah the reason for his visit, as it is unusual for him to have an audience, so Anos tells him that he wants to move the Godless Continent out of the Twelve Deep Worlds. Heath gets very angry and is prepared to attack him, as the Godless Continent is the property of the Great Demon King. However, Zinnia brings him under control by calling his name.
Before they discuss things, Zinnia asks Noah to give him a minute of his time, as he wants to see his growth. He asks Noah to help him up, as he hasn't stood up for several thousands of years, so Anos takes this as a test. Anos fires Egil Grone Angdroa, but it is swallowed by Zinnia's Magic Eyes of Everlasting Darkness. He also traps Anos in infinite darkness, which dulls all of his senses. This leads Anos to use his Magic Eyes of Chaotic Destruction, whose chaos stirs up the immense darkness to create different shades of black, allowing him to see Zinnia's figure. The two maintain sight of the other as their Magic Eyes repel each other with extreme force.
Zinnia eventually undoes his Magic Eyes, revealing that Anos has destroyed his throne and he was standing up, likely because he relaxed his stance when it was time. As promised, Zinnia accepts Anos' request, as the Godless Continent was originally given to him. Heath asks if he is really Noah, so Zinnia confirms it. When Heath challenges Anos to a duel, Zinnia allows it to prevent future confrontations.
After the final fight with the Third Demon King Heath Tonia, Anos learns that he is indeed Noah's reincarnation. When he goes to see Zinnia, the Great Demon King reveals that he is close to dying and asks Anos why he doesn't become a Demon King. If he dies, the Twelve Deep Worlds will be drawn to the Abyssal World, and the seas will continue to deepen until all of the Silver Sea is swallowed by the Absolute Vortex.
Abilities
- Immense Magic Power: As the supreme ruler of the Silver Water Holy Sea, Zinnia possesses an incredibly vast amount of magic power. He is the strongest man Anos has seen in a long time, and even with the most discerning Magic Eyes, the depths of his power are not visible.[3] When approaching the Twelve Deep Worlds, Misha sensed his magic power and stated that it surpassed Yzak's, one of the Inviolable Waters and possibly the most powerful Chief God of the Silver Sea.[4] He was able to equally compete against Anos, while still sitting on his throne, and withstand the effects of Egil Grone Angdroa without a scratch on him. It should be noted that all of his demonstrations of power were shown past his prime. Possibly hinting that he might be the only being who is equal if not stronger than the Demon King of Tyranny himself.
- Mastery of Magic: Zinnia is considered the greatest spellcaster in the Silver Sea, as the residents of the Silver Sea hold him in respect, awe, as well as fear of his magical knowledge. However, despite his immense power, his magic power is close to nonexistent, and he casts spells without showing any of it, as if intentionally hiding his power. The fact Anos is unable to see it means there is a clear difference in their magic skills.[5]
- Abyss Magic: The pinnacle of magic, which was discovered and mastered by the Great Demon King.[2] It's the deepest type of magic, and it isn't influenced by Order. Zinnia used it to counteract the Absolute Vortex.

Relationships
Noah
It is unknown how they met, but Zinnia gave Noah preferential treatment. After the two sparred, Zinnia gave Noah (Anos in disguise) a friendly smile, like the one you might give to a beloved family member.[5] It was later revealed that he knew Anos was Noah's reincarnation all along. That's why he never exposed him for being an impostor.[6] Fully aware he was dying, he offered Anos the role of Demon King, telling him that since he was already being called one in the bubble world, he wouldn't need to change titles.
