Zamira Engelo (ザミラ・エンゲロ Zamira Engero?) is the former headmaster of the Hero Academy and the 107th and final king of Gairadite.
Appearance[]
Zamira is an overweight man with short hair and a bald patch at the top. He wears red robes that are too thin for him, as they are close to bursting out at the seams.[1]
Personality[]
Zamira is a cowardly opportunistic man who desired the throne. Despite knowing about multiple schemes, he stayed away from them and watched quietly as the competition diminished, waiting for his moment to seize power.
History[]
Zamira was born into the royal family, but due to being heavily unfavored by King Lycius, the throne was far from his reach. For this reason, he colluded with the previous headmaster of the Hero Academy, Diego Ijeiska, as he hoped the number of royals would be reduced during the war with Dilhade.[2] After Diego's crimes were exposed, no one wanted to take over the disgraced academy, so the royal palace temporarily appointed Zamira as its new headmaster. Because he always prioritized the royal decrees over the well-being of the academy, Zamira was often at odds with Ms. Emilia and the students.[1]
The disgruntled royal was eventually contacted by Ahid Alovo Agartz, and despite knowing the risks, he introduced the cardinal to King Lycius. As expected, the king went mad and sacrificed his royal relatives. He also planned on killing Hero Kanon and letting all of Azesion be devoured by dragons, but Zamira turned a blind eye to this because whether the king succeeded or not, he would be closer to the throne either way.[2]

Selection Trial Arc[]
After sightings of dragons were reported across Azesion, Zamira appears at the academy with a royal decree, telling the Jerga-Kanon students to exterminate them. The students protest, as their inexperience basically makes it a death sentence, but Zamira dismisses them and tells them true heroes would sacrifice themselves for the people. He then approaches Lay Grandsley, Hero Kanon's reincarnation, and extends him the king's invitation to a banquet. After Lay declines, Zamira leaves irritated.
Lay eventually discovers King Lycius' plan and stops him, resulting in the latter's death. As the sole surviving member of the royal family, Zamira becomes the new king and gloats about his victory. However, Arcana uses magic to broadcast his confession to all the people in Azesion, causing the angry mob to rush towards the royal palace. Zamira tries to run, but he is stopped by a soldier. Ministers and nobles then appear to arrest Zamira for treason, as they are all fed up with the royal family's corruption.

Lycius Engelo Gairadite[]
Zamira despised the king, so he arranged the death of the royal family by introducing Lycius to Ahid.[2] He also hated the position of Arclanisca's headmaster, a position that Lycius thrust upon him, but he endured the humiliation and waited for his chance.
