Anos.1 SPOILER ALERT:This page contains unmarked spoilers from the light novel/web novel. Read at your own discretion.

Vlad (ヴラド Vurado?), also known as the Righteous Emperor (正帝 Seitei?) the Sovereign of the Mechanical World Deborosta and the mysterious figure that lurks within the shadows of Pablohetara, who has been instigating many conflicts in the Silver Water Holy Sea.

Appearance[]

Personality[]

Vlad is shown to be a cunning figure who has managed to scheme behind the scenes to instigate several major conflicts. He is shown to have his own sense of justice, as while he might take actions others deem evil, he views others like Lay to be true foolishly evil.

History[]

Righteous Emperor[]

According to Ottlulu, the Righteous Emperor was a hero from the fairy tales of the Silver Water World Listeria. He was a champion of justice who defeated the strong and helped the weak. All children in Listeria read stories about him, and therefore, many people remembered him before the destruction of their world. They hoped for a hero to come save them, but he never appeared.[1] However, it was later revealed Listeria had no such stories and that perhaps the Ruinous Abyss of Memories resurrected Ottlulu with the memories of another world.[2]

Listeria is said to have been destroyed by its own Sovereign, the Hermit Elmide, who killed himself afterward. However, after his alleged suicide, many influential figures of the Silver Sea began causing chaos under the name of Elmide, sometimes even calling themselves the Righteous Emperor. Anos, who knew the real Elmide to be a gentle person, suspects the Righteous Emperor disguised himself as Elmide and destroyed Listeria.[2]

Fake Hermit Elmide[]

Sometime before Listeria's destruction, the Righteous Emperor replaced the real Hermit Elmide. He was the researcher and creator of the Mechanical Gods, mighty artificial soldiers that could dive into the abyss and steal the Fire Dew from the Abyssal World, closing the power gap between the two worlds.[1]

For unknown purposes, "Elmide" pit the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino against the Holy Sword World Hayfolia. He implanted a Mechanical God at the bottom of the Disaster Abyss of Craving and hid it from Evezeino's Chief God, Yzak. Because the artificial god stirred up the cravings in the abyss, the Phantom Beasts became feral and attacked Hayfolia's Noble Hunters. However, the Holy King Ordov Heinriel realized that unknown powers were pushing them to fight, so he made an agreement with Yzak. When Yzak went into slumber, Evezeino followed after, temporality stopping the conflict.

14,000 years ago, "Elmide" killed Listeria's Chief God as they approached the abyss, dooming the entire Silver Water World. After Listeria's destruction, he committed suicide.[3] However, this was only a ruse, as he still lives. Around the same time, "Elmide" killed Lebrahard's subordinates during his ascension to Holy King and made him believe he was responsible. Since Hayfolia would fall into chaos if it were known that the Holy King killed his own men, Lebrahard hid this fact and continued governing with a guilty conscience. As a result, he lost the ability to wield the legendary holy sword Evansmana.[4][5] After compromising Hayfolia's new ruler and clouding his judgment, "Elmide" was able to reignite the conflict between Hayfolia and Evezeino.

Synopsis[]

Holy Sword World Arc[]

When Yzak awakened, Evezeino set a collision course toward Hayfolia in order to devour it. Anos, who wished to protect Ordov's dream of peace, went into the Disaster Abyss of Craving to find what was influencing it. He discovers the Mechanical God with the help of Hayfolia's Chief God, Eife, but "Elmide" personally takes control of the machine and absorbs her into its body. Due to Anos' nature as a Lion of Destruction, "Elmide" counters his abilities with Eife's blessings, so Anos switches to the Two Laws Sword and bisects the Mechanical God into two. However, it regenerates and then surrounds itself with a powerful Vortex.

Because only a Vortex can interfere with another one, Anos' Deepened Raviaz Gilg Gaverizd is ineffective. As a result, he uses his Magic Eyes of Chaotic Destruction, which destroys all logic and order, to stop it. Since they also negate the Mechanical God's regeneration, Anos is able to rescue Eife from within. But because the Eyes also suppress Eife's order, rendering Hayfolia powerless against Evezeino's predation, "Elmide" makes Anos choose between sacrificing the Holy Sword World or allowing him to regenerate.

Anos chooses neither and turns the Mechanical God into ashes with his sight. Afterward, Anos carves out the entirety of the Disaster Abyss of Craving from Evezeino, stopping the Disaster Abyss World. "Elmide" dares Anos to find him as Anos cuts down the remains of the artificial god for good.

Abilities[]

    • Immense Magic Power: As a resident of a deep world and the Sovereign of the Deborosta, Vlad possesses an extraordinary amount of magic power.

Relationships[]

Anos Voldigoad/"Demon King"[]

"Elmide" seems to recognize Anos, or at least a past life of his, as a Demon King of the Silver Sea, stating that he has since fallen and become weak. He also claims that said Demon King was responsible for Listeria's destruction and has been searching for "Elmide" for a long time without success.[6]
