The Unitarians (統一派 Tōitsu-ha?) is a faction of demons that seek true unity without discrimination between royalty and mixed-bloods in Dilhade.

Overview[]

The movement consists of people who are unable to meet their parents or have been separated from them, as royal demons are not allowed to have mixed-blood children. If discovered, the offender will lose their royal status and possibly everything. Even if they were willing to leave it all, the punishment also extends to their relatives, further discouraging them from doing so.[1] That's why they can't acknowledge their mixed-blood children, even if they loved them.

The Unitarians believe that Anos Voldigoad is the Demon King of Tyranny due to his overwhelming power and extensive magic knowledge. But even if he weren't, they would still rally under Anos because they need his strength, and his pedigree is irrelevant to them. They are willing to fight even the Demon King himself if it meant achieving equality.[1]

History[]

When Dilhade became a country that favors the founder's blood over merits, mixed-bloods became powerless and were treated as inferior by the pureblooded royalty. As a result, the Unitarian movement was formed to put an end to discrimination and bring the country back together. But without strong backing, they would've been unable to act against royalty. That's why the Demon Elder Melheis Boran sided with them, as he sympathized with their cause.[2]

Demon Sword Tournament Arc[]

Great Spirit Arc[]

After the Demon King Reordination Ceremony, Anos abolished the segregation of demons with the support of several high officials (such as Midhaze's Demon Lord Elio Ludwell) and the Seven Demon Elders, and a new order of egalitarianism was established between the royal and the mixed-blood demons. As a result, there are no longer distinctions between the two, finally achieving what the Unitarians ultimately desired.
