The Land of Demons Without a Demon King (魔王のいない魔族の国, Maō no inai mazoku no kuni^?) is the eighth episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime series.

Synopsis

Anos and the others continue their investigation in Aharthern. Although he wasn't able to switch his source as Avos Dilhevia as the Demon King of Tyranny, Anos receives an important hint from Leno. Lay engages in practicing swordsmanship with Shin. After this, Anos follows after Erdomaid to Delsgade. There, they encounter Demons who were ruling over humans.

Summary

Two thousand years ago, a young boy attempted to enter the grounds of Delsgade looking for the Demon King, only to be turned away by the guards, who inform him of the Demon King's passing.

Back at the Great Tree of Enyunien, Anoshu asks Great Spirit Leno if it's possible to change the rumors and lore of a spirit after they are born. She warns him that spirits could die if their new rumors contradict their old ones, though it's possible to add onto them if they match. She didn't have the ability to spawn new spirits from her tears, but since they didn't contradict her lore as the "Great Spirit Mother," she obtained that power. Above them, Shin spars with Lay in the flower garden, but the two are evenly matched since Lay quickly absorbs Shin's techniques. As a result, Shin reveals the Hidden Art of his magic sword, which can only be accessed by erasing one's magic power and drawing the sword's true hidden power during that state of nothingness. It appears as if Lay blocked the attack, but his shoulder is suddenly slashed. Lay asks Shin if he used it against Hero Kanon, but the latter replies that it was only developed after he lost to him.

After being informed of a headless demon leaving Aharthern, Anoshu heads to Dilhade with Misha and encounters a boy being dragged away to the Arena. The boy, Igareth Ijeiska, is a relative of Jerga, who massacred demon children to lure demon troops into traps. Debidora's child was one of them, and revenge blinded him. Anoshu initially stays still, as the past will return to how it was no matter what they do. However, he eventually decides to save Igareth and attempts to reason with Debidora, but the soldier is too far gone and casts a massive Jio Graze. Anoshu uses his Magic Eyes of Destruction to destroy it and, in doing so, reveals his identity. The demons immediately recognize and begin feeling remorse, stating they couldn't live as the Demon King intended, as they couldn't forgive the humans. Anoshu tells them to meet again in two thousand years when a wonderful world awaits them.

During the altercation, he noticed black particles emanating from a nearby tower, which he recognized as Venuzdonoa's. With it, it would be possible to save Igareth and turn him invisible to the gods of time when they eventually restore the timeline. Had he activated Venuzdonoa, the time gods would've ended Revalon and sent him back to the present. However, someone had left Venuzdonoa for him in the past. Since Igareth would've died originally, he must die again. But this time, he will cheat death through reincarnation and help Anosh by spreading a certain rumor about the Demon King of Tyranny, Avos Dilhevia. A message addressed to Anos then appears on the castle's walls, stating that the three of them will meet again two thousand years later, and the author will fall in love again. Anos checks the message with his Magic Eyes and learns that he has to wait until night.

Eventually, the message changes, telling Anos that Erdomaid is at the cemetery where the casualties of the war are being honored. The author also hopes Anos will have a peaceful future and that they'll always watch over him. Anos suspects Militia left him this message, as she has eyes on the world, though someone different might've activated Venuzdonoa. At the cemetery, Anos shows Misha the people he couldn't protect, his loyal subordinates who dreamed of peace. After resonating with their feelings, Misha then creates a flower field in the cemetery, stating that they wanted to see their lord smiling in a peaceful era.
