The Dream That God Saw (神の見た夢 Kami no Mita Yume?) is the twenty-fourth episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime series.
Synopsis[]
The battle between Dilhade and Giordal intensifies! However, Anos becomes suspicious of Giordal's small fighting force. After seeing Cannibal flying out of the castle and noticing he has eaten the song of a Divine Dragon, Anos comes to one final conclusion. The 1,500 years of prayer that Giordal had continued for so long…was a never-ending barrier separating the two irreconcilable nations.
Summary[]
Aisha and Arcana continue stopping the songfire from the draconids, but Anos wonders what Golroana is truly planning as their attacks are not enough for an invasion. Suddenly, Cannibal escapes from the castle to eat other dragons even though there are none. The tiny dragon then summons a big bubble and eats it, temporarily stopping the song of the Divine Dragon. Because Cannibal becomes invisible, Anos realizes that the song is the Divine Dragon itself, as it is a dragon made of sound.
Anos returns to Liegarondorol and sees that Golroana has already made a pact with Liebarschend, but the pope clarifies that he inherited the pact from his predecessors. The former popes had borrowed Liebarschend's power to revive the Divine Dragon as a phonetic magic circle, which had been playing for a long time to activate a spell that would blast away the dome. Life underground is rough, as the land is barren and devoid of rain, so Golroana intends to destroy the dome to make all living beings equal. Anos extends his hand to offer him a better future, but Golroana insists on following the path of his predecessors, forcing Anos to kill him.
Liebarschend then recreates a past version of Evansmana to attack Anos, but this isn't enough to defeat him, as Lay's sword is constantly improving, aiming for the future. Liebarschend is also killed, but he revives alongside Golroana, as they're in the Land of Vestiges, where the traces of the past exist. As a result, Anos attempts to destroy it with Egil Grone Angdroa. However, since Egil Grone Angdroa is origin magic, which borrows power from a past existence, Liebarschend is able to hijack the world-destroying spell and turn it against Anos. Unfortunately, since dying sources get a power boost to overcome their destruction, Anos becomes stronger and his source is restored.
The Demon King then reveals his newly-developed spell, Gilieriam Naviem, which imbues his steps with immense destructive power. On his first step, he destroys the records of all the people. On his second step, the records of all animals. On his third step, the records of the celestial bodies. On his fourth step, the records of the land and vegetation. On his fifth step, new records of the destruction he has caused arise, but they are destroyed as well. Nothing remains by his sixth step, as he extinguishes the last remaining light. Anos is about to take a seventh step, but he stops since the Land of Vestiges is already broken, and nothing else would remain. He tries to reason with Golroana again, but the pope tells him that it's too late, as Beherom was already fired during their fight.
Anos asks Arcana to use Leviangilma, the Sword of the Almighty, to give the dome eternal permanence. However, the sword can only protect its wielder, so Anos destroys that law with Venuzdonoa. Anos tells Golroana he will spare him if he helps Arcana recover her memories, but the pope reveals that she already has them. She hid this because she is actually Genedonov, the Goddess of Lies and Betrayal. Arcana confesses the truth and explains that she lived a hellish life pursued by dragons and the draconids. With no one to protect her, she wished for an older brother who would save her. That's why she couldn't tell Anos, as she wanted to maintain the illusion even if it was a lie.
Beherom continues traveling upward as the shockwaves are felt throughout the surface. Golroana is confident of his victory, but Anos chooses to believe in Arcana. Even if their memories are fake, the dream they saw was real. She won't betray him, as he believes in his little sister. Moved by Anos' words, Arcana takes Venuzdonoa and converts it into Leviangilma for him. Golroana orders Liebarschend to stop him, but he is easily killed by the Demon King.
With the crisis over, Anos picks up Liebarschend's Book of Vestiges and hands it to Golroana. Because even though he went about it the wrong way, Golroana truly wished for the underground world's salvation, and Anos believes they can join hands one day. Afterward, he returns to the castle, where he is welcomed back by his friends. Anos also receives reports from Meleheyth, Menou, and Emilia telling him the surface is safe. The Great Spirit Leno appears in the video call as well to check on Shin and Misha.
Because Arcana is afraid to face everyone, Anos uses his Selection Pledge Jewel to summon her to his side. He tells her not to think about it because everyone makes mistakes. Even Sasha started a fight with him in the beginning. Anos doesn't care if she's the Goddess of Absurdity, as she is only his younger sister in his eyes. Anos' parents then appear and see him hugging a crying Arcana, causing them to misunderstand.

Adaptation Notes[]
Differences from the light novel:
- All scenes involving Laos, Ledriano, Heine, Emilia, Menou, Revest, Izabella, Gusta, Meleheyth, and Leno are original to the anime since the surface is never shown in Volume 6.
- The scene of Anos reassuring Arcana that everyone makes mistakes is cut short, as he only uses Sasha as an example. In the novel, he also mentions Lay and Misa's time as Avos Dilhevia, the betrayal of his right-hand man Shin, and even Erdomaid, who is currently thinking of ways to betray him.
- The ending is changed so there would be no cliffhanger. In the novel, the Supreme Dragon of Gadeciola attacks Anos and kidnaps Pope Golroana. In addition, Arcana finds herself unable to undo the creation of Leviangilma, resulting in an eternally unchanging dome.
- Instead, the ending consists of Anos' allies reporting that the surface is intact and Anos' parents reacting to yet another misunderstanding.
