The Great Demon King Drills (大魔王教練, Dai Maō Kyōren^?) is the nineteenth episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime series.

Synopsis

That day, Anos had a dream about a time that he lived together with a young girl. The young girl is strangely also named Arcana…. Furthermore, the fact that the Draconids called the fusion of Sasha and Misha the Goddess of Absurdity, Genedonov, was also a problem. To investigate the piling mysteries, Anos decides to take a special class in the Underground World. And as a special lecturer, Anos teaches the students of Demon King Academy himself!?

Summary

A little girl resembling Arcana is running away from a dragon when her brother, a boy that resembles Anos, saves her. The girl suggests going to a village protected by a magic barrier, but her brother tells her that the dragons are after him. He doesn't want to abandon her, as she is his only family. Anos then wakes up in his bed with a naked Arcana, a scene that Sasha misunderstands when she enters his room. Arcana explains that she used the powers of the Guardian God of Dreams to help him recover his missing memories and that direct skin contact was needed to increase the effectiveness of order.

When Anos retells his dream, the twins are surprised, as he hasn't mentioned having a sister before. But he clarifies they might've not been blood-related, as his mother died giving birth to him. He called them over because he wanted to confirm something about their fusion, which he names Aisha, as she was mistaken for the Goddess of Absurdity Genedonov. When they use their Demonic Eyes of Creation and Destruction, Arcana seems to recognize them. She theorizes that after antagonizing the gods, Genedonov reincarnated as a demon to serve the Demon King of Tyranny. Anos thinks there might be some truth to this, as Misha recognized the Midhaze from 2,000 years ago. Since they needed to explore their memories, Arcana suggests finding Liebarschend, the God of Vestiges, who has greater control over memories than the Guardian God of Dreams.

Anos also wants to dismantle the Judgement Selection, which exists due to the order of judgement. However, no one has seen the god of judgement, not even the other gods. As a result, the draconids came up with the existence of the Almighty Radiance Equis, as every order is embodied by a god. This mysterious figure controls the Judgement Selection, and all the gods are his helping hands.

Afterward, Anos decides to hold a special training session for Class 1-2. There's a commotion at first, as the royal students are scared of Anos, whom they mistreated during his time as a student, but they eventually settle down. Anos informs them about the Underground World, where the draconids that attacked Azeshion originated from. He wants to train them so they are prepared to visit this new land.

Anos has each student picture their ideal selves and then manifests them with Edonica. Because the clones only fight with instinct, he uses Venuzdonoa to give them minds of their own. Naya faces her own Edonica clone, but it's just as lacking as she is, so she becomes depressed. However, Erdomaid reassures her that just like how the measuring crystal failed Anos and branded him as a misfit, she has a hidden potential that the test can't measure, and that's why he's interested in her. In comparison, Team Anos fails to summon their ideal selves, as they have long surpassed them. Anos has the twins train with Arcana instead, Eleonore and Zeshia with each other, while he and Shin duel Lay and Misa.

Because of their victory against the Royal Dragon, Anos realized the potential of love magic and that it might be effective against the gods. He wants the couple to polish it, so he activates Theo Asc with Shin using their master/subordinate bond. Lay and Shin trade blows using their love-infused swords, but Shin blocks all of his attacks. Anos then activates Dio Grezeas, a spell that turns Shin's love for his daughter and hatred for her lover into power, allowing him to destroy four of Lay's sources at once. The young couple decides to give their all, so Misa changes into Avos Dilhevia, and the two use Ligaro Tir Traloth. However, they are pushed back by Anos and Shin's platonic Ligaro Tir Traloth, as the couple's romantic love has a flaw. Buried deep inside, the two are embarrassed to show their love, and that's what's dulling their power. The master and subordinate then form a V-shape with their swords, activating Vaviro Varche Triath, which fires a powerful beam of love that defeats the couple.

The training continues until dawn, and the class asks for Anoshu's whereabouts, not knowing that he is actually Anos in disguise. The Demon King pretends that Anoshu has been with them all along, but they can't see him because he is practicing concealment magic. He then introduces them to Arcana, who summons the Moon of Creation to freeze the land and make a hole into the underground world. She also summons snow dragons to transport the students.

Adaptation Notes

Differences from the light novel:

• In the novel, Dio Grezeas occurs multiple times. Instead of four sources being destroyed at once, Lay's sources explode one by one. He died five times, revived five times, died another five times, and revived five times again. Shin landed ten hits on him.
• Scenes from the other students are removed during the duel between Anos & Shin vs. Lay & Misa.
  • When Anos joins Shin to push back Lay and Misa's Ligaro Tir Traloth, Eleonore and Zeshia move away due to its overwhelming power. The Edonicas of the students also instinctively run away, while the Anos Fan Union and their Edonicas move closer to witness Anos and Shin's love firsthand.
  • To protect the fan union, Arcana instructs Aisha to use her Magic Eyes of Creation and Destruction to rewrite divine order, and she lends them some of her magic. This allows Aisha to turn the Moon of Creation from a crescent moon to a first-quarter moon, intensifying the rain of lunar snowdrops to protect them.
