— Anos to Militia |
Moon of Creation (創造の月 Sōzō no Tsuki?) is the thirteenth episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime series.
Synopsis[]
The Mythical Age. In an effort to destroy the Moon of Creation, Anos meets the Goddess of Creation Militia and begins to interact with her. And now the present…. Anos, who has made his identity as the Demon King of Tyranny known throughout the world, joins classes at Demon King Academy as the transfer student, Anoshu. To train even stronger demons, Erdomaid instates the Great Demon King Drills. As the first initiative, swordsmanship training under Shin begins!
Summary[]
In the past, Anos sought to bring down the Moon of Creation to stop the endless cycle of life and death, as the Sun of Destruction destroys life so the Moon of Creation can create new life and vice-versa. When he asks the goddess overseeing it if the world is kind, she introduces herself as Militia and replies that it isn't. A day passes, and Anos asks Militia about herself, as he had never tried understanding the gods before. She tells him that gods are order, so they are not living and have no emotions. She also tells him about her younger sister, whom she couldn't meet due to order, so the Demon King asks for her name. Seven years pass, and the Moon of Creation appears again, so Anos brings Militia a letter from her sister stating, "Say hello to my Demon King." The two continue talking afterward.
Anos wakes up and eats breakfast with Misha already in his house. The two then go wake up Sasha, who refuses to get out of bed and dismisses it as a dream. However, she tells Anos she will only wake up if he holds her, so he makes the bed disappear, causing Sasha to fall into his arms. She wakes up and becomes embarrassed upon realizing what just happened.
Since Anos has been officially acknowledged as the Demon King, he disguises himself as a six-year-old transfer student named Anoshu Polticoal to attend class in peace. Erdomaid also introduces the class to Shin, who is their new swordsmanship instructor. Because the demons from this era are weak, the academy will start offering the "Great Demon King Drills", special classes taught by instructors from the Mythical Age to foster their skills.
At the arena, Lay reaffirms his love for Misa. However, they are interrupted by Shin, who disapproves of their relationship. The two men then spar, and Lay uses his sword to convey that he wants his daughter's hand in marriage. Shin rejects him due to being too weak and then uses his demon sword's first hidden art to kill Lay, who resurrects soon after. He also tells Lay that if he learned his lesson, then he shouldn't take Misa out so late at night. Shin then reminiscences about Leno, who also asked him for marriage right away, so he tells Lay unless he can defeat him, he can't allow them to date.
Meanwhile, Ramon approaches Anoshu since they are both royals, and rants to him about the fake Demon King invented by the Unitarians. Because Ramon is likely connected to the Royalist Resistance, Anoshu reveals his overwhelming strength to impress him. As expected, Ramon brings him to their leader, Zerceus Angart, who plans to release dragons on the population to weaken the Demon King Army. However, Anos destroys the dragon and reveals himself. He also binds the royals with Nedneliaz, which puts them in a dream where they will be killed by Anos repeatedly unless they change their mindset. He brings them back and tells them to convince all the rebels to change; only then will he remove their collars.
Back in Delsgade, Anos thinks back about the dragon that Zerceus had, which was given to him by a strange man who was neither from Dilhade or Azeshion. Emilia appears afterward and asks for salvation, as she has nowhere to go. When Anos asks if she likes teaching, she replies that she doesn't mind it, so he tells her to teach at the Hero Academy, which has lost the people's trust due to the war. In addition, humans won't care whether she's a pureblood or mixed-blood demon, so if she succeeds, she will promoted to the same rank as the Seven Elder Demon Emperors. This causes Emilia to accept.

Adaptation Notes[]
Differences from the light novel:
- In the novel, Emilia's audience with Anos happens in between him eating breakfast with Misha, which got interrupted by Emilia showing up at his house, and before waking up Sasha. However, this is moved all the way after Anos defeats the Royalist Resistance in the anime.
- The subplot with the Resistance is heavily condensed. In the novel, Ramon brings Anoshu to the Angart Family's Mansion after making him sign a Zecht making him obey his orders. Once there, Zerceus tests Anoshu's strength by making him fight soldiers before heading to their hideout. Zerceus also questions if Anoshu is trustworthy, but Ramon lies by saying he is his sworn brother, as he wants to rise up in the ranks very quickly by showing results.
- When Anos reveals himself, he offers to spare whoever surrenders first, so Ramon quickly takes it. This causes Zerceus to badly burn him for his betrayal. After Anos shackles Zerceus, Ramon turns against him by ordering him with Zecht, which has no effect due to their difference in magic power, so he is shackled as well.
