This world doesn't need a god of such.
— Anos to NousGalia

The Misfit (不適合者 Futekigōsha?) is the twelfth episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II anime series.

Synopsis[]

Avos Dilhevia takes control over Magic Sword of Destruction Venuzdnor at last. Anos gives a calm smile to the enemy who seizes everything from the Demon King of Tyranny and reigns control, however... The true purpose of Avos taking control over the Magic Sword at the end of the fierce battle is revealed. How does Anos face off against the Child of God, destroyer of the Demon King of Tyranny, and the power that destroys all life!?

Summary[]

Avos gloats that she has taken everything from Anos, from his subordinates to the very symbol of his power, Venuzdnor. However, Anos is unmoved, as the sword is nothing but a ragged stick to him. The two then clash with their spells and are evenly matched until Avos uses the Magic Sword of Destruction, causing Anos to slowly disappear. But to her surprise, Anos remains intact and destroys her source, revealing his Mauve Magic Eyes.

After resurrecting, Avos opens her hand to reveal the crystal where NousGalia is sealed and frees the Heavenly Father. She then stabs her source with Venuzdnor, letting all of her magic power flow into the sword as Delsgade shakes uncontrollably. NousGalia explains that when Anos made the Goddess of Destruction fall, he renamed her as the Demon Castle Delsgade and turned her divine powers into Venuzdnor. But now, the order of destruction will return to its original form and bring death and destruction as it was meant to be. The Magic Sword of Destruction flies to the sky before transforming into the Sun of Ruin, Sir Gerldonave, and turning the night into day. It covers Midhaze with its light of destruction, but only Avos is disintegrated.

Only NousGalia remains in a white and black plane, but Anos joins him later, stating that just because it was the order of destruction, it didn't mean it would side with the gods. NousGalia is in disbelief, asking how the order of destruction cannot destroy a single demon. Anos activates his Mauve Magic Eyes again and recognizes the fear in the Heavenly Father. NousGalia refutes his claim, so Anos tells him to leave and formulate another plan, but he is unable to move. NousGalia still insists that he is order and has no feelings, so Anos tells him to laugh. If he is order, then he can laugh with no issue. As a law of nature, he holds no malice, so he will be spared. NousGalia attempts to laugh, but Anos uses his will to live as proof that he is not order. This angers the Heavenly Father, who lunges at Anos. However, the Demon King counterattacks by piercing the god's source and communicates with Erdomaid. In exchange for his loyalty, Anos will help Erdomaid usurp NousGalia's divine power, something which Erdomaid had planned for 2,000 years ever since letting the god possess him. He accepts, and Anos separates their sources. After transferring NousGalia's powers, he turns the god into a fly, which Erdomaid smashes.

When everything is over, Misa wakes up and talks to her mother for the first and last time, as Leno fades away after saying goodbye to her daughter and husband. Misa begs Fran to keep her mother longer and blames herself for her death, but Anos reassures her that Leno hasn't disappeared yet. However, he must save Misa first, as she can't live with half her source now that Avos is gone. Because there isn't much time left, he asks Lay and Misa to trust him, as Lay must kill Misa with Evansmana just like in the legends. They cannot alter a spirit's rumors after they have been born, but they can make additions to them. The rumor that the reincarnated Demon King dies once again but reincarnates as a full spirit is what Anos secretly tasked Igareth Ijeiska to spread after saving him in the past. Since Misa is now a full spirit, Leno's rumors won't be violated, and thus she revives. Mother and daughter then tearfully embrace.

At the Second Coming of the Demon King ceremony, Anos introduces his subjects to the people who fought alongside him for peace: the Hero of Azeshion, Hero Kanon; the queen of Aharthern, the Great Spirit Leno; the one who proved demons and spirits can coexist, the Spirit King Shin; the Great Spirit Avos Dilhevia, now reincarnated as Misa. He declares the war over and makes peace with the human and spirit races. He decrees that all who live in Dilhade are equal and that if they encounter a tragedy they cannot overcome, come to him, and he will grant them that wish. Afterward, he tells them to remember that this country won't tolerate hardship, malice, and tragedy. If these rules are violated, the Demon King of Tyranny will risk his life to destroy it. The Anos Fan Union sings a song afterward.

After the ceremony, the Necron twins approach Anos and ask him why the Sun of Destruction didn't destroy them. He replies that it didn't see them as enemies, and this is what the twins are wondering about, as the Goddess of Destruction Abernyu was supposed to be his enemy. Suddenly, Anos comes to a realization that the one who activated Venuzdnor in the past was him. But for some reason, he can't remember it, just as he can't remember his exact relationship with Abernyu. When the Sun of Destruction shone, he knew for sure it wouldn't hurt them. He's missing part of his memories, but why?

In the past, Anos is seen climbing stairs to the sky as the Goddess of Creation Militia waits for him at the top.

Adaptation Notes[]

Differences from the light novel:

  • When Anos declared he would help anyone with a tragedy they cannot overcome, a man named Leon Gryzel, whose daughter has an incurable disease, was supposed to speak out. This is cut from the anime.
  • The part where Anos is seen meeting Militia is the prologue from the next arc.
