Teardrop Blossom (涙花 Namida Hana?) is a special flower that allow spirits to be born.
Appearance[]
The Teardrop Blossom takes the appearance of a flower with white petals and a yellow pistil.
History[]
While the original lore of the Mother of Spirits Reno stated that she is the one to give birth to spirits, the exact mechanics of it were never elaborated on. Later legends expanded her lore by adding the rumor that spirits are born from her tears, thus granting her the ability to create teardrop blossoms. Reno would use these flowers to give birth to various spirits over a long period of time.
After the Great War Tree Migelonov passed away due to violating her own lore, Reno's tears created a teardrop blossom that gave birth to the Great Tree of Learning Ennunien. She then continued nurturing the remaining flowers inside Ennunien's grass field. When Reno was attacked and had her biological child extracted from her womb by the Heavenly Father Nosgalia, she used the flowers to birth as many spirits as possible in the hopes that one could help save her daughter. One of them was Ezyssey, the Spring of Time, who used its power to take Misa to the future so she could escape Nosgalia's influence.
Since her child was half-demon, Reno violated her legend as the mother of spirits and began fading away. However, Reno was able to bid farewell to her husband Shin, and her tears created one last flower. Shin then stabbed his sword on the ground and put the flower on it to act as a grave marker.
Synopsis[]
Great Spirit Arc[]
When Anos and Rina find Ennunien's flower garden, Rina is drawn to the teardrop blossom and begins to cry, as it feels very familiar. She would take it and carry it with her as Anos and his friends unravel the mystery behind Misa's birth. Rina is eventually revealed to be the resurrected Reno, who temporarily borrowed the body of a love fairy to save her loved ones. When this is done, she fades away again and leaves the flower behind. However, Anos is able to turn Misa into a pure spirit, solving the contradiction that killed her, and puts magic into the teardrop blossom to resurrect her.
Abilities[]
The teardrop blossom is a special flower that is infused with Reno's tears, and her wish for a spirit to be born will turn it into an appropriate spirit. The aforementioned spirit won't be born unless Reno wishes for it from the bottom of her heart. Sometimes spirits are born different from how she imagined, and sometimes they're born without her even realizing it.[1]
Since new spirits won't be born unless Reno truly wishes for it, it is possible to have dormant teardrop blossoms. However, they must be taken care of with love, or they will wilt. If they are properly taken care of, new buds will sprout, and their numbers will increase.[1]
While it seems Reno creates new spirits of her own will, it is actually Reno's own rumors and legends influencing her. Due to being the mother of all spirits, she is compelled to give birth to a fitting child.[1]

Trivia[]
- The majority of spirits are born independently from Reno's tears, as Reno isn't the oldest spirit in existence.[1]
- There are only three known spirits that were born through the teardrop blossom: Ennunien, Ezyssey, and Reno during her rebirth.
