Small Worlds (小世界 Ko Sekai?), or Silver Bubbles (銀泡 Gin Awa?),[1] are universes in the form of giant bubbles that are located in the Silver Water Holy Sea.

Evolution[]

All worlds begin as an unevolved Bubble World (泡沫世界?), which appears like a dark bubble in the Silver Sea. They cannot perceive the world outside of the bubble and are constantly leaking Fire Dew. Because they lack a Sovereign, a king of the world that unifies all nations, their inhabitants are in constant strife. Eventually, ceaseless fighting and death will cause the world to die out. They get their names from their fleeting lifespans.[2]

When a bubble world dies, another one is born to take its place. This cycle of destruction is repeated until a Conformist (適合者 Tekigōsha?) is born. They are the pinnacle of the evolution of life, beings that possess more power than the gods and have the potential to change the world. As their numbers increase, the world's Order and Fire Dew become stronger.[2]

In addition, one of the many seeds of the world's will possessed by the gods will sprout, resulting in the birth of the Chief God (主神 Shushin?). Afterward, the bubble world changes greatly. The Chief God will choose a Sovereign (元首 Genshu?) from among the Conformists to rule the world. With both the Chief God and Sovereign, the bubble world evolves into a silver bubble.[2]

Silver Sea Travel[]

Normally, it's impossible to leave a small world, as the space in it is distorted. Something that flies straight up naturally changes direction, goes around the world, and comes out from below.[3] However, each world is lit by silver light, which is accompanied by invisible winds and waves of order. By sensing that light and riding that flow, it is possible to enter and leave the world with a ship created by the world's Chief God.[4]

Depth Difference[]

Every world is classified by its depth in the Silver Sea. Due to the Silver Sea's order, Fire Dew is constantly released from bubble worlds and falls into deeper worlds. This additional fire dew strengthens their magic and order, causing them to sink deeper into the Silver Sea. The first to tenth layers contain the Shallow Worlds, the eleventh to twentieth layers contain the Middle Worlds, and beyond the twentieth layer lies the Deep Worlds.[2]

A world's depth also determines its influence on the Silver Sea. Because magic power flows from shallow to deep, deeper worlds have access to shallow spells, but not the other way around. Order also behaves similarly, as Balandias' order works in the deeper Seventh Elenesia. However, there are exceptions to this rule. First, it's possible to use deep magic in shallow worlds by using the Reverse Flow Formula (遡航術式 Sokō Jutsushiki?), which reverses the flow of magic.[5] And second, certain magic and order is limited to a small world, so they won't work anywhere else.[2]

In deeper worlds, everything from strength, speed, toughness, and magic power to order is on another level. For example, shallow world-destroying magic is unable to destroy objects in deeper worlds.[6] Luna Arzenon, a deep world citizen who didn't have much physical ability, was able to jump from cliff to cliff and pass through rough magic fields in a bubble world with ease.[7]
