Silver Castle World Balandias (銀城世界バランディアス Ginjō Sekai Barandiasu?) is a Silver Bubble world located in the deep layer.

History[]

Early History[]

Balandias was born a long time ago, with Cartinas Irvena being the eleventh Sovereign in the history of the world. Maytilen, the world's Chief God, chose him in order to strengthen Balandias by any means necessary.[1] While the people thank him for making Balandias a Deep World, his methods were considered loathsome even by his own subordinates. In addition, he made too many enemies from small worlds outside of Pablohetara.[2]

Since Cartinas had fulfilled his role, Maytilen began searching for a Sovereign worthy of the position and eventually found Farris Noin. However, noticing that he lacked ambition, Maytilen devised a plan to make him hers. She then informed Cartinas of Farris' existence and his paintings.[1]

Discovering Farris[]

After reincarnating in Balandias, Farris traveled around to find people who similarly appreciated the arts, which was difficult due to the different values there. He eventually found a village of retired castle builders, all of whom were tired of creating things for practicality alone. Craving for something different, Farris showed them how it felt to create castles for their beauty rather than for battle. After many years, five castles were completed and sealed inside picture frames afterward, never to see the battlefield.[2]

However, the Tiger Castle Army seized the paintings while Farris was away, and held them as leverage against him. Farris was forced to pledge his allegiance to Cartinas so that his comrades' legacy would not be tarnished. Maytilen granted him the title of "Silver Castle Creator," and he became one of the leading figures of Balandias alongside Zymon Eparra.[3] The Chief God then tried persuading Farris to become the next Sovereign so he could retrieve the paintings, but he always turned it down, as he felt unworthy of the position.

Joining Pablohetara[]

At some point, Balandias and its Tiger Castle Academy joined the Silver Water Academy Pablohetara, an academy alliance of many different Small Worlds. Cartinas, who was the Sovereign and a shameless man, became infamous for only challenging newcomers to a Hierarchy War, a friendly competition for Fire Dew. Even though Balandias is a deep world, Cartinas deliberately lowered Balandias' ranking so that they could fight the lower ranks, earning the academy the nickname of "paper-mâché tiger".[4]

Hierarchy War vs. Militia[]

During their first time in Pablohetara, Cartinas quickly antagonizes the Militia World when they don't yield the way for him. He keeps pestering Anos Voldigoad, Militia's Sovereign, and eventually challenges him to a Hierarchy War. Since Balandias owned more Silver Bubbles, the battlefield was set in the Second Balandias colony.

Due to his prejudice towards shallow worlds, Cartinas underestimates Militia's power and loses 17 of his castle ships. Fed up with Cartinas' behavior for a long time now, Zymon and the other fleet commanders finally rebel and imprison him. Anos fights Maytilen and eventually defeats her, resulting in Militia's victory. Because Maytilen was willing to sacrifice her own people to achieve her goals, Anos reincarnates her as a pet tiger and Balandias as a world that could thrive without the Chief God.

Characteristics[]

In Balandias, functionality was valued above all else, leaving no place for the arts. Things like castles for warfare, castle swords, magic tools, and armor were far more valuable than paintings. The world's particular trait was castles, meaning that its residents were naturally skilled at building them and using creation magic.[2]

The people of Balandias also use special magic glyphs that look more like drawings than letters. They take the shape of various things, such as birds, water, or castles. And depending on how they are drawn, they may even contain more magic power than what the caster puts in them. A skilled caster can build a castle with a single letter, but an average one can't build a dog house even with thousands of letters.[5]
