Silk Mueller (シルク・ミューラー Shiruku Myūrā?) is a genius blacksmith from the Blacksmith World Bardilua, and the apprentice of Bellamy Standad, Evansmana's original forger.
Appearance[]
Silk is a girl with small stature and a tanned complexion. She has brown eyes that fade into orange at the end. Her hair has the color of steel and is fastened into two braids that are tied into a bun at the lower part of her head. She has long ears that are reminiscent of that of an elf. As a blacksmith, she wears a hat with goggles, thick gloves, and an apron.[1]
Personality[]
Silk loves swords like no other blacksmith. Unlike her peers, she can hear the voice of raw magic steel, which guides her during the forging process. Instead of following her own will, she follows theirs. As life that wished to be born, she had an obligation to bring them into this world properly. But because the swords she forges are detrimental to their users, Silk began doubting her own skills and believing herself to be the problem.[2]
When Silk starts forging, she completely cuts off the outside world, to the point of disregarding her own health. Swords, fire, water, and the sound of a resounding hammer are all that is left in her mind.[3]
History[]
With her particular ability to hear the voices of raw magic steel, Silk forged swords according to their wishes. However, no one was able to wield them, as they burned, froze, or corroded their users depending on the sword. Famous swordsmen and even Sovereigns from other worlds came, but they couldn't conquer the swords either. Because the swords had the potential to kill their users, Bellamy had to intervene.[4]
Silk was told to make swords that anyone could use, but she couldn't ignore the voices of the magic steel. When she did, she created the pitiful Winged Sword Filicia, as she deprived it of what could have been. If that was a blacksmith's job, then she just wouldn't forge anything. Bellamy saw her as unmotivated and kicked her out, thinking she would return after reflecting, but the stubborn Silk ran away from home. To evade the people that were sent to bring her back, she used a magic tool to appear like a boy and change her hair color to brown.[4]
Synopsis[]
Holy Sword World Arc[]
Because Bellamy couldn't reforge Evansmana due to a pact with the Holy King Lebrahard, she ends up recommending Silk to Anos instead. Around the same time, Silk sneaks aboard the Demon King Train and steals some food. Shin immediately discovers her, so she introduces herself as Gill Fawn. To get out of trouble, she offers to help him find Silk, as she overheard him looking for her. She brings him to her workshop and shows him Filicia, one of Silk's swords, which Shin doubts since it was poorly made. Silk reassures him that it is and begins telling him her backstory. Unlike Silk's swords, hers were unusable.
However, Shin proves her wrong by grabbing the Deadly Blaze Sword Galagyudos in her workshop. She begs him to let go, as the flames are burning him, but he doesn't listen. When she attempts to cut off his arm, Shin manages to subjugate Galagyudos in time and destroy Filicia, proving that her sword was far superior to Silk's and that they simply didn't have worthy wielders. Grateful, Gill reveals herself to be Silk and listens to his request. In exchange, he will serve as her partner for the Blacksmithing Tournament. Shin's allies then appear, and after seeing Evansmana, Silk understands and informs them that they will have to go to Hayfolia.
She sets up her workshop inside Hayfolia's Rainbow Lake, whose water is required to restore Evansmana's magic power, and then asks Lay to hold the holy sword. After heating the blade and striking it with the holy hammer Wiselhan, Lay's hands are lacerated while Silk is blown away by the sword's impurities. However, she controls her technique and successfully tries again, eventually removing most of the rust. To wrap it up, they sharpen Evansmana with Arzenon's Claw and restore its former brilliance, completing the job.
Abilities[]
- Master Blacksmith: Despite her doubts and insecurities, Silk is a master blacksmith and crafter, whose swords are of exquisite quality. This is due to her ability to hear the desire of the magic steel she forges with, and understand what kind of weapon it wants to be forged into. However, despite producing holy and demon swords of great power, they were also very dangerous to those unworthy of them, as they could greatly injure their wielder or even kill them. In addition, she was the only blacksmith, aside from her mentor Bellamy, capable of reforging the legendary Evansmana and removing the accumulated rust within it.
- Enhanced Hearing: The people of Bardilua have a sharp sense of hearing, as they are able to ascertain their current location by relying solely on the sound of their hammers, which echo throughout the country. While skilled blacksmiths are able to hear the voice of the swords they forge, Silk has never been able to in centuries of smithing. Instead, she could hear the voices of the magic steel, fire, air, and many other voices, which are always echoing in her ears.[2]

Shin Reglia[]
After listening to her backstory, Shin risks his own life to draw Galagyudos from its scabbard, proving to Silk that her swords weren't faulty, but merely in wait of a worthy user. He then reassures her that she didn't make a mistake on the path she took. This helps Silk regain her confidence and asks him to become her Sword Partner, a blacksmith's personal swordsman, for the Blacksmithing Tournament.
