Royal Dragon (王竜 Ō Ryū?) refers to a unique group of variant dragons native to the country of Agatha.
Appearance[]
The Royal Dragon is an enormous variant dragon that is over a hundred meters long. It has white skin and scales, as well as two horns protruding on its head.[1]
History[]
The Royal Dragon is a title for a group of rare variants that spawn in the country of Agatha, which became known as the Kingdom of the Royal Dragon. The Royal Dragon is revered as the guardian dragon of Agatha, as the religious teaching of Agatha state that the Royal Dragon reincarnates people through a dragon’s womb into a dragonborn, who will become a hero to protect Agatha in the wake of the "Day of Disaster".
One of the Royal Dragons was stolen by the Cardinal of Jiordal, Ahid Alovo Agartz, despite use of the Royal Dragon violating his own Jiordal religious teaching. The Cardinal took the dragon and brought it to the aboveground world, where he presented the Royal Dragon to King Lycius Engelo Gairadite, as a reward for his devotion to Almighty Radiance Equis. Eventually, Lycious sacrificed nearly all of his relatives to the Royal Dragon, so it could eat their sources.
Synopsis[]
Selection Trial Arc[]
Lycius summoned the Royal Dragon to restrain Lay Grandsley and Misa Reglia, in order to try to goad Lay into drawing Evansmana, so he could steal it. After seemingly controlling Misa with the power of Enes Ne Mes, he had the Royal Dragon release her from the mucus binding her, so she could strangle Lay. However, Misa overpowers the Keeper of Emotions by assuming her true form, so in desperation, Lycius had the Royal Dragon devour him, but unlike others it devoured, he was able to maintain his sense of self and fused with the Royal Dragon due to Keeper of Emotions' power. Lycius revealed that his daughter was still alive in the Royal Dragon, as he deliberately didn't have her digested so he could use her as a hostage. After his daughter managed to steal Evansmana from Lay, Lycius merged it with the Royal Dragon and use them to attack the duo. However, the Royal Dragon was overpowered and destroyed by sword of light formed from Lay and Misa's love.
Abilities[]
- Immense Magic Power: Due to being a unique and rare variant dragon, the Royal Dragon possesses a vast amount of magic power, boasting superior power to even elite Mythical Age warriors.
- Magical Mucus: It possesses the ability to produce sticky liquidus mucus, that continuously spreads, despite any attempts to ward it off with anti-magic.
- Source Devouring: As a dragon, it has the ability to consume the sources of the prey it has eaten, and digest it.
- Dragonborn Creation: After it consumes a massive amount of sources, the Royal Dragon gives birth to a Dragonborn, which possesses the vast physical capability of dragons as well as vast magical power due to it being an amalgamation of the numerous sources the dragon consumed.
