The Phantom Knights (幻名騎士団 Genmei Kishi-dan?) is a group of unnamed powerful demon warriors who were rumored to roam across Dilhade during the Mythical Age. In the Magical Age, they affiliated themselves with Gadeciola, working directly under the Overlord.
Overview[]
According to Arcana, there has always been a group of mysterious knights working for Gadeciola shortly after its founding.[1] They were nameless knights whose existence has never been publicly acknowledged, but they were rumored to be the direct subordinates of Gadeciola's overlord. They moved in the shadows, eliminating the kingdom's enemies.[2]
Synopsis[]
Jiordal, Kingdom of the Divine Dragon Arc[]
During his search for Revalschned, Anos Voldigoad is attacked by the Phantom Knights, who seek to destroy the God of Traces. Lay and Misa stay to fight the Phantom Knights who remained by the entrance, while Anos and the others go inside and find Aeges Code and Kaihilam Jiste. Because the Necron sisters hold them back, Anos and Arcana manage to reach Revalschned's sleeping grounds, but they are attacked by Ceris Voldigoad. While Anos and Ceris confront each other, Arcana awakens the God of Traces and lets him escape.
Anos later meets with Ceris again, who reveals his desire to protect their homeland by eliminating Jiordal, who is planning to destroy the surface with Revalschned's help. However, Anos rejects his offer and leaves Shin and Eldmed to watch over Phantom Knights while he goes to stop Pope Golroana. After he leaves, Aeges and Kaihilam attack Eldmed, but he defeats them using the power of the Heavenly Father. Eldmed then joins Shin in the battle against Ceris, but they are not a match for him. As a result, Eldmed traps everyone inside the Garden of Time, forcing Ceris to stand down while Anos deals with the crisis at hand.
Abilities[]
Due to consisting of Mythical Age demons, the members of the Phantom Knights of Gadeciola are very powerful demons, as they were capable of withstanding Anos' Jio Graze without taking any damage,[2] and survive fighting against Lay and Avos Dilhevia before escaping (although the two were slightly holding back in order to not kill them).[3]
The Phantom Knights wear a deep-green armor that gives them a dragon-like appearance and some kind of cloaking device that conceals their magic. It is revealed that the members of the Phantom Knights, like the Forbidden Soldiers of Gadeciola are infested with the multiplied Supreme Dragon, strengthening their abilities and giving them access to magic that is suited to countering divine beings.
Members[]
- Ceris Voldigoad, the father of the Demon King
- Aeges Code, the Netherworld King
- Kaihilam Jiste, the Cursed King
Trivia[]
- Anos speculates that the masked members of the Phantom Knights are demons who were dissatisfied with his rule and hid themselves during the Great War before leaving for the Underground World, as Anos would have been able to recognize anyone powerful enough to not fear him.[1]
- His later hypothesis is that they could be either Aeges and Kaihilam's subordinates or even those working for Ceris.[3]
- As Mythical Age demons, they are aware of the existence of Hero Kanon and the Sword of Three Races, as they were abnormally wary of the holy sword when Lay wielded it against them.[3] However, they are unaware that Lay is the reincarnation of Kanon.
