Ordov Heinriel (オルドフ・ハインリエル Orudofu Hainrieru?) was the former Holy King (聖王 Seiō?), and the father of both Lebrahard and Balzarondo.
Appearance[]
Ordov is described as a man with grey hair, wrinkles etched on his face, and a well-groomed mustache. His old age diminished his previously muscular physique, as his muscles withered under the strain of his imprisonment.
Personality[]
Ordov was the undisputed hero of Hayfolia, a Holy King that devoted his life to his world and served with great honor. He was a wise man who saw through the invisible forces pushing them to fight against the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino, and sought to make peace with them instead. Even the Blessed Lady Eife put her full faith in him when her convictions were wavering.[1]
To Yzak, he was a stubborn believer who performed miracles. When a fleet of Hyphorian hunters was trapped in Evezeino, Ordov single-handedly went to save them despite their low chances of survival, even when Eife and the Five Holy Nobles had already given up on them.[2]
History[]
Ordov was born in the Holy Sword World Hayfolia and eventually became its Sovereign, while also fathering Lebrahard and Balzarondo at some point. As the Holy King, he led his world against the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino in numerous battles, as they were naturally incompatible and especially hostile against each other. The Disaster Abyss World was home to the Phantom Beasts, whose insatiable craving led them to feast on and possess the bodies of Hayfolia's citizens. During these battles, he met and fought against Evezeino's Sovereign, Yzak, eventually forming an unlikely kinship between the two.
Eventually, Ordov noticed that the world of Evezeino was alive and would move to devour Hayfolia. He tried to stop it by blessing Evezeino with Eife's order, though Yzak drove them back before they could succeed. Even after losing an arm fighting the Lion of Destruction, Ordov confronted Yzak to save his subordinates. An injured Ordov would allow Yzak to take his head, questioning the path he took. He wondered if the Rainbow Road, which guided Hayfolians to hunt the phantom beasts, was really the embodiment of their conscience as it was told. If Hayfolia's blessing could quench Evezeino's craving, wouldn't it mean the same powers are at work? Then, were Yzak's cravings really his? If he was right, it would mean they were wrong all this time.[3]
Intrigued by Ordov's hypothesis and ideal, Yzak voluntarily went to sleep in order to weaken Evezeino's order and stop its craving, thus giving Ordov the opportunity to find the true Rainbow Road and change Hayfolia. If he was wrong, then they would continue their battle when Yzak wakes up. But if he was right, the two could drink together in celebration.[3] Afterward, Ordov hid him in a temple in Hayfolia.
Towards his old age, Ordov would send Yzak back to Evezeino with the Two-Laws Usurper Noah's help, as he realized that he wasn't capable of accomplishing his dream of finding the true Rainbow Road.[4] He eventually abdicated as the Holy King, and relinquished the ownership of Evansmana. However, he never gave up on finding the true Rainbow Road and continued to search for it despite his previous unsuccessful attempts. He eventually learned of Admiral Gigi's plans, and as a result, he was shot with a special magic bullet. With his source severely damaged, Gigi imprisoned him and left him to slowly perish in a bubble world.
Synopsis[]
Holy Sword World Arc[]
After restoring Evansmana's former brilliance, the Fateful Spirit King Dionatek led its current wielder, Lay Grandsley; and Ordov's own son, Balzarondo, to rescue him. The spirit created a Rainbow Road, which led them to the dying bubble world where Ordov was imprisoned. The former Holy King recognized Evansmana's radiance, even after his senses became dulled, as well as the presence of his son Balzarondo. But he mistook Lay for his eldest son Lebrahard, as he was unaware that someone else was worthy of Evansmana besides Lebrahard. To honor the old hero, Lay played along to give him some peace of mind during his final moments.
Ordov then shared with them memories of his vow with Yzak, as well as his desire to find the true Rainbow Road, which he was too weakened to find. Lay, still playing Lebrahard, reassured him by taking over his duty and told Ordov that did his best to walk the true Rainbow Road. Satisfied, Ordov's magic power started to fade, but Dionatek manifested from Evansmana and used her powers to prolong his life enough to save his feelings. Afterward, they took the injured Ordov back to Hayfolia. Eife tried to heal him but could only delay the inevitable. Balzarondo suggested taking Ordov to the Militia World to be reincarnated, thus allowing them to meet again someday, but he wasn't able to convince Eife due to his hesitation. However, Eife was surprised when Lay's determination manifested a Rainbow Road, convincing her to entrust them with Ordov.
In the Militia World, Lay used his mastery of source magic, Evansmana's power, and the assistance of the Four Principles to reincarnate Ordov. Their attempt was successful, and Ordov entered a state of remission, though it would take two days to complete the process. After the three-way battle between Hayfolia, Evezeino, and Militia ended, various of Ordov's old allies, friends, and even Yzak, came to see him before he reincarnated. When his eyes opened and saw the Living Disaster, Ordov weakly extended his fist to his old rival. He told him that their Roads do not diverge, as his source reached its limit and reincarnated, leaving behind his "Order of Heinriel".
Abilities[]
- Immense Magic Power: As an inhabitant of a deep world and former Sovereign of Hayfolia, Ordov possessed vast magic power. He was considered the strongest hunter on Hayfolia during his prime, as he fought on equal terms against the Living Disaster Yzak, one of the Inviolable Waters that were feared across the Silver Water Holy Sea for their immense power.
- Master Swordsman: Ordov was the most powerful swordsman of Hayfolia and possibly in the Silver Water Holy Sea, as he was renowned for his swordsmanship prowess. He was also the first wielder of the legendary holy sword Evansmana, being able to use it at full power and draw out its whole potential.

Relationships[]
Eife[]
Ordov kept a good relationship with his Chief God as he governed the world alongside her. He protected her during their attempt to bless Evezeino, and made sure to help retreat when it failed. She put great faith in his judgment, as she tried to seek his counsel when she began questioning her qualifications as Hayfolia's Chief God.
She was sorrowful after Ordov was found on the brink of death, and tried to heal him to no avail. During his final moments, she thanked him for fighting for Hayfolia and wished him the best of his future journey after he reincarnated.
Yzak[]
Originally, Ordov and Yzak were hostile to each other, becoming archenemies as their worlds battled over the years. However, Ordov gained some measure of respect for the Living Disaster and confided in him about his hypothesis about Evezeino, as well as his desire to find the true Rainbow Road. After Yzak went to sleep, Ordov desperately tried to find the true Rainbow Path in order to convince Yzak that they didn't have to fight, but was disappointed in himself for being unable to find it.
When Ordov was on the verge of being reincarnated, Yzak came to visit him and brought the bottle of alcohol that he promised if Ordov was right. Ordov was pleased to see him and told him that their paths don't diverge. It is noted that their relationship heavily parallels the relationship shared between Hero Kanon/Lay and Anos, with the two going from arch-rivals to friends over the course of their battles.
