Volume 13 Act 2 - Balzarondo and Ordov

Balzarondo Freneros with his father Ordov Heinriel, the former Holy King

Noble Hunters (狩猟貴族 Shuryō Kizoku?) is the dominant race of the Holy Sword World Hayfolia.

Overview[]

Noble Hunters seem to be Hayfolia's counterparts of Militia's humans. Since Hayfolia's Chief God, the Blessed Lady Eife, possesses the order of blessings, all Noble Hunters have a limited attribute of blessings ingrained in their magic power.[1] Noble Hunters also possess long lifespans, as the current Holy King Lebrahard Heinriel is over 17,000 years old.

Upon a Noble Hunter's death, they leave behind an Order of Heinriel (ハインリエル勲章 Hainrieru kunshō?), a medal given by the Holy King to his vassals, as it is customary for Noble Hunters to leave their wills in it. By using the Hayfolian limited magic Baseram, Noble Hunters can use their power to leave their hearts behind before they perish.[2]

They live according to the Rainbow Road (虹路 Niji-ji?), which is a manifestation of a Noble Hunter's conscience embodied by Eife's divine order and reflected in her divine eyes. Noble Hunters believe that by following the Rainbow Road, they can achieve justice and lead Hayfolia down a better and righteous path. As such, Noble Hunters highly value justice, chivalry, and honor.

Due to their low cravings, they are regarded as an ideal Prey Spirit Cups (餌食霊杯 Ejikirei-hai?) for Phantom Beasts, which leads to them preying on the citizens of Hayfolia. Because of this, Hayfolia and Evezeino have warred with each other.[3]

Powers and Abilities[]

As the inhabitants of a deep world, Noble Hunters possess immense magic power, which is far superior to the inhabitants of shallow and middle-class worlds. In fact, due to Hayfolia's immense amount of Fire Dew which allowed it to rank second in Pablohetara, Noble Hunters are considered one of the strongest races in the Silver Sea.

Noble Hunters possess a great affinity with Holy Swords and other holy weapons such as holy bows, as they have demonstrated to be great swordsmen and marksmen. It is stated that their swords are used more to fight humanoid beings while their bows are used to hunt beasts. They also use a variety of deep-class holy magic spells, which can range from offensive magic, auxiliary spells which enhance their blessing power, or weakening magic to more easily hunt their prey.[4]

As the inhabitants of Hayfolia, their strength is greater when they are inside of their own world. Conversely, Noble Hunters are weaker when inside of their nemesis world, the Disaster Abyss World Evezeino.[5]

Trivia[]

  • Noble Hunters prefer to dress in aristocratic-like hunter clothes, while wearing a uniform that contains the Hayfolia's Evansmana coat of arms on their shoulder.[4]
