“ | There are a lot of things missing, and sometimes I don't live up to my students' expectations. But you know what, Naya? We grow too. We are teachers who are taught by our students, and we grow with them. So, while he was teaching, you gave him more than a little. | „ |
— Meno to Naya[1] |
Meno Historia (メノウ・ヒストリア Menou Hisutoria?) is the homeroom teacher of Class 3-1 at the Demon King Academy. She was temporarily in charge of Anos' class after Emilia's resignation.
Appearance[]
Meno has long ears, green hair and eyes. She wears a black robe with white accents, a black skirt, and heels.
Personality[]
Meno is a kind and headstrong individual. As an educator, she is very helpful to her students and doesn't let things get to her too quickly. She is also very stubborn, as she refused to let Dilfred infiltrate the academy even when it was apparent she stood no chance against the god, endangering her own body and source.
Despite being a pureblooded demon, she, unlike Emilia (before her reformation), harbors no discriminatory views against hybrids, as she acknowledges and respects Anos' unique power and intellect. Upon gaining confirmation of his identity, she recognizes him as the founding ancestor as she knelt before him.
History[]
A year ago, when Revest Aynie was conflicted about his lineage due to the atrocities the Demon King of Tyranny committed, Meno taught him about a side of the Demon King he never knew existed. She told him the two were probably similar; maybe the Demon King never wanted to fight, but he had to in order to protect his people. While Gyze is a spell used for war, it also takes your magic power and shares it with your allies.
As a third-year teacher, Meno teaches about Azesion's heroes and their magic. At some point, she began discussions with the headmaster of the Hero Academy, Diego Ijeiska, for an educational exchange between the two schools.
Synopsis[]
Hero Academy Arc[]
Due to Emilia's sudden resignation, Meno had no choice but to substitute for Class 1-2. She brings them along for the educational exchange and gives everyone ten days to arrive at the Hero Academy, a trip that personally took her two days. On the first day of the exchange, Diego begins class with a knowledge competition, but the heroes use this opportunity to ask for localized spells rather than common-knowledge ones, ridiculing Delsgade's students. Meno asks to speak with Diego, but he simply feigns ignorance.
She attempts to get them back on the battle exam and show off her third-year students, but the heroes cheat by mixing holy water into their underwater battlefield, poisoning Revest and the others. Meno scowls at Diego to get them out, but he delays the emergency response by arguing with her instead. Desperate, she attempts to do it herself, but Anos rescues them for her. Meno then apologizes to Revest for putting them at risk. Afterward, Anos' team fights the Jerga-Kanon students next and utterly defeats them.
After Avos Dilhevia steals the legendary holy sword Evansmana, Meno and the Demon King Academy's students are confined to their dormitories by human soldiers, watching as Diego sends a broadcast throughout all of Azesion declaring war against the demon nation of Dilhade.
Great Spirit Arc[]
Meno introduces Anos' class to Eldmed Ditigeon, their new permanent homeroom teacher. She was later kidnapped by Linka Theorness but is eventually rescued by the Necron sisters.
Upon the awakening of the Great Spirit Avos Dilhevia, Dilhade became under her complete control, Meno and Revest were forced to watch helplessly as all of the mixed-blooded demons were being imprisoned or drained of their magic by his fellow brainwashed pureblooded students. Despite being a pureblooded demon, like Revest, Meno wasn't affected by Avos' influence as she completely believed that Anos was the true Demon King. They both pretended to be part of the new regime, while waiting for the arrival of Anos and his subordinates. Upon his arrival, she aided Anos and his subordinates into infiltrating Delsgade without anyone taking notice.
Abilities[]
- High Magical Power: Meno has more magic power than Emilia,[2] who was already powerful compared to other demons from the Magical Age.
Relationships[]
Revest Aynie[]
Meno's pride and joy are her students, which include Revest. When he was thinking of dropping out, she gave him a new perspective on the Demon King of Tyranny and convinced him to stay. After this, he took pride in his lineage, and the two became close ever since.
