Maytilen (メイティレン Meitiren?), the Royal Tiger (王虎 Ō Tora?), was the chief god of the Silver Castle World Balandias. After being defeated by Anos, she was reincarnated into a tiger cub.

Appearance[]

Maytilen has the appearance of a huge tiger with platinum fur.[1]

Personality[]

On the surface, Maytilen seemed like a benevolent god that cares about her world and regretted making an unsuitable person like Cartinas the Sovereign, but she had no choice due to the fact that a world couldn't be maintained without a Sovereign. She seemingly wanted to liberate Faris from Cartinas' oppressive rule by encouraging him to become the new Sovereign for the prosperity of Balandias.

However, it is revealed that Maytilen's true personality is selfish and self-serving, as she manipulated Cartinas into stripping Faris of his freedom, so she can harness Faris' talents and use them to increase her own power, with the goal of eventually controlling the entirety of the Silver Water Holy Sea.

History[]

Upon discovering Faris' talents, but seeing him wasting them away in a remote village, Maytilen devised a plan to control him. She sent Cartinas to seize Faris' paintings, who used them to blackmail him into serving Balandias. Because Cartinas has long served his purpose, Maytilen has been secretly trying to make Faris the new Sovereign in exchange for the paintings, but Faris always declined.

Synopsis[]

Silver Water Holy Sea Arc[]

After finding Anos snooping in their castle, Maytilen proposes he kills Cartinas to make Faris the new Sovereign, who will surely foster a better relationship between their worlds. However, Anos turns the god down because he sees through her manipulations.

As the strongest people from their respective worlds, Maytilen personally fights Anos during the Silver Water Hierarchy War. The Royal Tiger uses her authority of causality to maul Anos without hitting him, and to ignore the damage taken from his attacks. Arcana eventually joins in and makes Maytilen's authority go out of control, causing the Great Wall of Causality to collapse on top of Maytilen, which allows Anos to behead the Royal Tiger.

However, this isn't enough to kill Maytilen, whose source is trying to overcome its own destruction by giving the god a massive power increase. The Royal Tiger then uses Haze Bermut Yeriade, a powerful castle-weapon that will annihilate Zeridhavenus with Anos inside and even Maytilen's own people. But this fails, as Faris uses Astrastela to rebuild the castle ship as it's being destroyed. Soon, Sasha uses Ain Ayal Naverva to destroy the Royal Tiger's castle. While Anos uses Rayon to boost the destructive light of Ain Ayal Naverva to destroy Maytilen's source, leaving nothing but ashes and a tiger skull.

After the Militia World wins the Hierarchy War, Misha uses Al Ant Eltonoa to kindly recreate Balandias and Maytilen, who is no longer a chief god but a tiger cub inside a painting. She will come out of it to protect Anos' mother if its senses the cause and effect of battle.

Abilities[]

  • Great Wall of Causality <Hazebenyeriya>: Maytilen's authority, which manifests as a giant castle covering the world. By building stone walls or breaking them down, Maytilen can manipulate causes and effects. For example, Maytilen can damage the opponent without hitting them (effect without cause), or get stabbed by a sword without getting injured (cause without effect). However, there's a limit on what Maytilen can do, or else the castle risks falling apart.[2]
  • Immense Magic Power: As the chief god of Balandias, Maytilen possesses immense magic power, having a near bottomless magic pool. As the Chief God of a deep world, she was capable of fighting against Anos for a significant period of time until being defeated.

Magic[]

  • Haze Bermut Yeriade: The roar of the gods. It transforms the Great Wall of Causality <Hazebenyeriya> into a giant tiger head that shoots silver bullet holes. Due to Hazebenyeriya's effect, Maytilen can enforce the result of getting shot regardless of the cause, meaning it will completely ignore the target's defenses and annihilate it.[3]

Relationships[]

Faris Noin[]

After Faris' reincarnation as an inhabitant of Balandias, he caught Maytilen's attention due to his creativity and talent in creation magic, as she sensed that Faris would make an excellent Sovereign. Through the symbiotic relationship between Chief God and Sovereign, Faris' power of creativity would enhance the power of Maytilen's authority, to the point where she would be able to influence the causality in the Silver Water Holy Sea on a much grander scale. She tried convincing Faris to become the Sovereign and told him that with Faris' leadership, Balandias would become a true immovable castle. She offered to return the five paintings that Cartinas had taken from him, but Faris never accepted because Balandias was missing a strong guiding light for the people, which was not him.[1]

Cartinas Irvena[]

Although Maytilen chose Cartinas to be Balandias' Sovereign, it was only to fill the position so they wouldn't be vulnerable against other worlds. When the Royal Tiger discovered Faris, who was more worthy of the position, Maytilen tried to get rid of Cartinas. However, because a chief god cannot kill the Sovereign of their choosing, Maytilen attempted to get others to do it.

It was later revealed that Maytilen was the one who put Faris on Cartinas' radar, as she manipulated him into forcing Faris into his service by preying on Cartinas' jealousy of someone else being a more worthy Sovereign. She did so in order to get Faris close to her and eventually replace Cartinas.[4]

Zymon Eparra[]

While the direct relationship between the two is largely unknown, Maytilen covertly approved of Zymon's plans to rebel against Cartinas, as she had plans to make Faris the Sovereign of Balandias. Because of this, Maytilen gave Zymon her express permission to go through with his plans, as their end goals aligned.
