Kaihilam Jiste (カイヒラム・ジステ Kaihiram Jisute?) is a great demon from the Dorfmond clan who competed against Anos Voldigoad during the Mythical Age. Known as the Cursed King (詛王 Noroi-ō?), Kaihilam is one of the Four Evil Kings.
Appearance[]
Kaihilam has six horns growing out of his head, black and silver hair, and pale white skin. Though he had an androgynous face, his slim body was completely male.
Personality[]
The Cursed King has two personalities: His main one is that of the Cursed King Kaihilam, while the other is that of his lover, Jiste. When the personalities switch, his source and memories also change, though only one source exists between them. Searching Jiste's memories would not give any of Kaihiram's, and he cannot switch personalities at will.[1]
Jiste is friendly and polite.
History[]
Due to his overwhelming power, which was only second to the Demon King's, Kaihilam was named one of the Four Evil Kings. Like many great demons of the Mythical Age, Kaihilam moved away from Dilhade after Anos' sacrifice so the Hero Kanon could enact his plan. The Cursed King ended in Aharthern, where his personality was forcibly laid dormant by the Spirit King, leaving Jiste in control. The masked figure then threatened her into obeying him, which is why she sent Gerad Azlema to Delsgade.[2]
Synopsis[]
Great Spirit Arc[]
After enrolling at the spirit school, Anos greets Kaihilam but gets no response. He corrects himself and then greets Jiste, who had a bit of trouble recognizing him at first. The Demon King asks about Kaihilam, and she explains that he was spirited away after failing a test.
The class eventually takes the Spirit Trial, and everyone goes their separate ways. When Anos and Rina enter a flower garden, Jiste appears before them and explains that the Spirit King cannot detect them while there. She reveals that she's being blackmailed into serving him and shows Anos what the masked figure looks like. Afterward, she pleads with Anos to save Kailiam, and he accepts because his subordinates were spirited away as well. She thanks him and then disappears.
Abilities[]
- Source of Curse: As a demon from the Dorfmond clan, Kaihilam's source's true nature is a curse. The more Cursed King approaches his destruction, the more curses his source generates in the form of a black swamp.
- Smoke Mimicry: The Cursed King can transform into a black mist, allowing them to conceal themselves and/or travel quickly.
Relationships[]
Jiste[]
Jiste is Kaihilam's lover and second personality.
Gerad Azlema[]
Gerad is his subordinate.
Aeges Code[]
The Netherworld King helped Kaihilam inherit the curse of his mentor in the past, making him indebted to Aeges. After years of partnership, they established a rather "cursed" friendship.
Anos Voldigoad[]
Kaihilam and the Demon King didn't get along, with Anos preferring that Kaihilam's personality never resurfaces again. Nonetheless, he was willing to save him due to Jiste's pleas.[3]
