Holy Swords (聖剣, Seiken^?) are special swords that are infused with holy magic.

Overview

Holy Swords are created when a sword are either inhabited by a spirit or when a sword is blessed by the power of a god, thus giving the sword its holy radiance. Unlike demon swords, which can vary in quality that can range from those with weak magic power and those with great magic power, all holy swords have massive magic power. However, with enough magic power, it is also possible to use Lyfid to transform a regular sword into a holy sword.

Each holy sword has its own source, with the sword being very selective in choosing its wielder. A person who isn't deemed worthy by the sword can't even wield it, as the sword will refuse to allow to even lift it. And if an unworthy would-be-wielder persists in trying to pick up the sword, the sword will lash out in various ways, such as burning them with its holy power. While a holy sword is usually very loyal to their owner, there are times where the sword can betray their original owner if it is grasped by someone they considered far more worthy of their loyalty.

Despite the durability of holy swords, it is possible to break them. However, unless the source of the sword is destroyed, the sword will regenerate, which the wielder can speed up by pouring their own magic power to accelerate the recovery process.

Abilities

• Great Sharpness and Durability: All holy swords possess great sharpness and durability, being able to break ordinary weapons with a single hit, regardless of what material they are forged from, as well fight against other magic weapons. Though the true worth of the weapons is dependant on its wielder, as slashing ability and strength is based on how much of the sword's potential its user can draw out.

• Demon-Slaying: The unique aspect of holy swords is that they are infused with holy power, which manifests as a holy radiance that the sword emits. This radiance is poisonous to demons, as it can even be lethal to them.

• Demonic Power-Sealing: The holy power of a holy sword can be used to supress the powers and abilities of demons. Though this is dependent on the power of the demon being weaker or equal to the holy sword, as much stronger demons can resist the sword's sealing abilities.

Stigma injury

• Stigma Branding : If a person is injured by a holy sword, they will be branded by a stigma, which is a consequence of being deeply wounded by holy magic. A stigma will continue to spread over the injured's body at a rapid rate. Stigmas are deep wounds that normally cannot be healed by healing magic. However, if a caster possesses far more magic power then the magic that inflicted the stigma and a sufficiently strong healing spell, the stigma can be dispelled and healed.

• Unique Power: All holy swords also possess a unique power that only that specific sword can accomplish. This can range from manipulating various elemental forces to enhancing the user's defensive power.

• Holy swords are extremely rare items because they cannot be made easily. It is said that only eighty-eight holy swords exist in the world.
• The wielders of holy swords became Heroes in the Mythical Age.
• Demons cannot normally use holy swords due being particularly incompatible with them. However, it is possible for a demon to forcibly take possession of a holy sword if their magic power vastly surpasses that of the holy sword, as they can supress the sword's will with their power.
