The fran (フラン Furan?), or the love fairies (愛の妖精 Ai no Yōsei?), are spirits that give shape to unfulfilled love and brings people together. There are as many love fairies as there are broken relationships in the world.[1] They wander in search of their memories and will disappear if they discover their identity before remembering their love.[2]

History[]

When someone passes away with regrets, even if their source was destroyed and they could never resurrect again, their love fairy will assist them by temporarily lending their bodies to the dead. In exchange, the resurrected person loses the memories of their loved one and will wander in search of those memories. Only those whose love is true would recall their memories and be able to convey their final feelings.[3]

Due to the Heavenly Father Nosgalia's schemes to create the Child of God, which violated the Great Spirit Reno's rumors of being the mother of spirits, she was forced to bid farewell to her husband Shin early. After her death, a fran was born to lend her a body, so the amnesiac Reno became Rina. She wandered around Zehenburg in search of her missing memories, where she would eventually meet Anos. Through their journey, Rina slowly regained fragments of her memories until the final confrontation with Nosgalia. When Shin was about to be killed by the Heavenly Father, Rina awakens as Reno and saves him.

Likewise, the Great War Tree Migelonov resurrects as a fran to give Reno the spirit spell Alha Alfrem. With it, she imbues Shin with the power of various spirits, allowing him to defeat Nosgalia once and for all. Reno vanishes afterward, as she was able to convey her final feelings. However, Anos saves her by reincarnating their daughter Misa into a pure spirit, thereby invalidating the contradiction that killed Reno.
