Dragon Attacks on Azesion[N 1] is a series of attacks instigated by Ahid Alovo Agartz, who unleashed dragons on the people of Azesion.
History[]
Prelude[]
Although dragons were thought to be extinct, they were sighted again in Azesion, causing the disappearance of many people. The authorities held a meeting, but they were still sceptical, so they did not reach out to Dilhade despite being ill-equipped to deal with dragons.[1]
Zamira and Ahid conspire to manipulate king Lycius.
Unbeknownst to the general public, Zamira Engelo conspired with Ahid Alovo Agartz, as he introduced the latter to king Lycius Engelo Gairadite, with Ahid managing to indoctrinate him into worshipping the Almighty Radiance Equis and the gods. Zamira went along with Ahid's plans in hopes of having the rest of the royal family murdered so he could ascend to the throne. Ahid granted the king a Pledge Jewel as proof of the king's devotion to the gods.
When the Demon King Anos Voldigoad found out about the dragon attacks, he offered Azesion an educational exchange with the Demon King Academy as a way to provide his help in secret, which they accepted. The royal palace eventually gave the Jerga-Kanon class the order to slay the dragons instead of the army, telling Anos that something was afoot.[2]
To prepare the Hero Academy for the upcoming battles, Eldmed Ditigeon teaches them all about dragons and the anti-dragon barrier spell, De Jerias. He also finds a nest of dragons, where he trains the students on how to evade them and improve their stamina.
Attack on the Hero Academy[]
Hero trio facing the variant dragon.
A red variant dragon eventually attacks the Hero Academy, injuring many of the students and knocking out a few. To save her students, Emilia showers the dragon with Gresde and lures it away. She begins to accept her fate as the dragon closes up on her and devours her. However, Raos, Heine, and Ledriano stop the dragon from biting down on Emilia, as they will never have a teacher who cares for them as she does.
Their words inspire her to dive inside the dragon while the students on the ground support her by converting their feelings into magic power through Aske, allowing Emilia to use De Jerias and incapacitate the dragon from within. The trio manages to extract her and then further bind the beast. When Eldmed arrives, he uses his Hourglass of Conflagration to put a killing curse on the dragon.
Battle at Trinos Plain[]
After a royal familiar spots a horde of dragons emerging from the Enora Meadow and heading to Gairadite, the king sends an edict to the Hero Academy to delay them while they ready the army. Although this order is met with hostility from the students, they resolve to protect their homeland nonetheless.
Provisional "De Jerias"
Emilia devises a plan to intercept them at the Trinos Plain, which is thirty kilometers away from the city. She commands Heine, Ledriano, and Raos to create artificial canals and draw holy water from the Gairadite Lake into the plain. She then moves to a nearby forest to intercept the dragons and casts De Jerias. This will buy time for Heine to carve an enormous magic circle for De Jerias that will cover the entire plain, stopping the dragons before they can reach the capital. Due to the sheer size of such a magic circle, the holy water that flows from the lake will be used to power it.

The dragons that arrive are caught by the De Jerias magic threads and then shot down by the Arclanisca students. This strategy works at first, but the trees mysteriously fall and create gaps in the barrier, allowing the dragons to penetrate their defensive line. As a result, Eleonore uses Eorunes to create orbs that temporarily empower the students. However, they are eventually overwhelmed by the number of dragons, while an ancient dragon emerges from the ground to attack Emilia. Ledriano pushes her out of the way and is severely injured instead.
Large-scale "De Jerias" activates.
To make things worse, a blue variant dragon freezes the ground to prevent Heine from finishing the magic circle. While Eleonore and Zeshia fight it, Emilia uses Griad to melt the ice. Unfortunately, another blue variant appears and freezes Heine's body. Emilia tries to help him, but a third blue variant appears and flings her away. Raos attempts to defrost Heine, but he is taken down by other dragons. Despite being frozen shut, Heine musters all of his strength and courage to snap his arm at the elbow, causing it to fall off and stab the ground with his holy sword, finishing the magic circle. Since Emilia landed at the canal, and all the holy water is connected, she activates De Jerias and stops the dragons.
Underground Fight[]
Noticing underground tunnels beneath the plains, Anos travels below with the twins and encounters Jiordal's Holy Knights, the ones who were sabotaging Emilia's De Jerias. He tries to interrogate one of them, but the draconid refuses, so Anos uses Nedneliaz to put him in a dream where he is killed endlessly until he confesses. As a result, the knight reveals that Ahid received a divine order to consecrate the people of Azesion, that is, to feed them to dragons so they are reborn from their wombs as god-following draconids.
Anos sees through the draconids' concealment.
After he reveals Ahid's location, Anos kills him and orders the rest of them to reveal themselves. The holy knights attempt to fight back, but they're no match for Anos, who makes them suffer from endless deaths with Nedneliaz before killing them. Since there are still many holy knights left, he leaves them for Sasha and Misha as he goes for Ahid. The twins then fuse into Aisha Necron and stop them.
Conspiracy of the Royal Palace[]
Around the same time, Lay and Misa accept King Lycius' invitation to the royal palace. He asks for the hero's help, as the twenty-six members of the royal family fell ill, and only Evansmana can sever their fate. When he brings them to the underground lake where they are being treated, the Royal Dragon suddenly appears from the water and binds the couple with its mucus. It is revealed that Ahid put ideas in the human king, who became deluded with saving his people by offering them to the dragons, the messengers of the gods.

He summons Enes Ne Mes, the Keeper of Emotions, to turn Misa against Lay. However, Misa is unaffected because she changes into her true form, Avos Dilhevia. This causes Lycius to order the Royal Dragon to devour him, allowing him to control it with Enes Ne Mes' powers. He then summons an apparition of his pitiful daughter, whom he fed to the dragon, and forces Lay into summoning Evansmana to save her. When he does, she steals the holy sword, as she also believes in her father's salvation. But despite absorbing Evansmana into their dragon body, the Royal Dragon is no match for the combined love of Lay and Misa, which takes the shape of a colossal sword of light that slays Lycius.

| Hero Academy vs Red Variant Dragon | |
Emilia, fueled by her students' Aske, uses De Jerias inside the dragon to create magic threads that seal its magic and crush its organs, causing it to drop from the sky. |
| Eleonore & Zeshia vs Blue Variant Dragon | |
First, Zeshia grabs one of Eleonore's Eurones orbs to get stronger. She then uses Regalomitein to duplicate her holy sword into about a hundred copies, which she fires at the dragon to tear off its scales. Finally, she uses Regalonatein to create magic mirrors that infinitely reflect Eleonore's multiple Teo Triaths to empower them and obliterate the dragon. |
| Aisha Necron vs Holy Knights | |
Aisha uses her Magic Eyes of Omneity to destroy the Holy Knights' fire breaths and then transform their bodies into ice. |
| Lay & Avos vs Royal Dragon (Lycius) | |
The Royal Dragon charges at Lay with its Evasmana horn, but he parries it with Siegsesta, breaking its blade. Lycius tries again, but Lay and Misa's Teo Aske gives the broken sword a new blade made from their love, allowing them to block his attack. Their feelings and movements become more synchronized as their blade of love becomes larger and larger, transforming into Ligaro Tir Traloth. As the two swing down their colossal sword of love, Lycius' dragon body is hit by a trail of explosions, destroying all the sources the Royal Dragon has consumed. They eventually pierce Lycius' source, killing him. |
Aftermath[]
As a result of King Lycius killing his entire family and his death at the hands of Lay and Avos, Zamira becomes the 107th king of Gairadite. However, his reign is short-lived, as Arcana broadcasts his negotiations with Ahid and his knowledge of the attacks to all of Azesion. Because of the destruction caused by the dragons, an angry mob of people surrounds the palace. Zamira tries to flee, but he is detained by his own soldiers. The ministers and nobility of Azesion then appear and arrest him for treason, as they have had enough of the royal family's corruption.[3]
Due to the vacancy left by Zamira's arrest, Anos appoints Emilia as the new headmaster of the Hero Academy, as she proved herself by rehabilitating the Hero Academy's prestige and defending the capital from the dragon invasion. She accepts this position with honor. In addition, Gairadite will abolish the monarchy and establish a council of nations.[4]
