Demon King Army

The Demon King Army (魔王軍, Maō Gun^?) is the army that comprised the troops and forces of the Demon King Anos.

History[]

During the Mythical Age, the Demon King Anos Voldigoad rose up as a prominent demon vying for control over the demon nation of Dilhade. As his fame increased, he began amassing a legion of followers. Some joined him after acknowledging his power and strength, while others were fascinated by his way of life and ideals.

Eventually, Anos encountered a powerful demon swordsman named Shin Reglia, after the latter defeated some of his followers. The two fought, and Anos became intrigued by him. When the latter asked Anos why he was so powerful, Anos replied that it was to save everyone and countered by asking Shin why he was so strong, something which Shin didn't have an answer for. Anos then asked Shin to join him, promising him worthy opponents, and he agreed. Shin would become Anos' most powerful and faithful subordinate, later rising up to the position of his right-hand man.

During the Great War, the Demon King Army clashed against the elite human army, the Demon King Subjugation Battalion, which was led by the famous Hero Kanon, who became recognized as Anos' arch-rival.

To tilt the balance of creation and destruction toward life, Anos would embark on a mission to the Sky of Destruction and corrupt the Sun of Destruction, which was the cause of most mortal destruction. He recruited the talented creator Faris Noin, whose flying castle ship Zeridhavenus was capable of reaching the Goddess of Destruction Abernyu's domain. Anos and his army used the Zeridhavenus to fly through the Sky of Destruction, but Faris lost his life in the process due to the ship being attacked by an army of the Keepers of Destruction Egus De Rafan.

After achieving their objective, Anos and his army returned to Dilhade to continue his goal of conquering the demon nation. They were the first to arrive Midhaze in the aftermath of Sorcerer King Bomiras Heros' death, so Anos erected the Demon Castle Delsgade in there. In addition, Anos' army intercepted the incoming armies of other powerful demons and easily defeated them in one day, without allowing a single soldier to enter Midhaze. Eventually, the army succeeded in conquering all of Dilhade, as the entire realm fell under the influence of the Demon King Anos. Given on how the incredibly powerful rabid beasts known as Dragons were a constant threat to the demon race, Anos and his army hunted the beasts down to the brink of extinction.

Anos and his troops would later invade the Great Spirit Forest Aharthern to meet with the Great Spirit Reno. However, they were intercepted by Aharthern's guardian, Great Spirit of Water Lignon, who easily dispatched Anos' troops. In response, Shin swiftly dealt with her and returned to his post as Anos praised his sword skill. Afterward, the Demon King resurrected his troops and ordered them to burn the forest to flush Reno out. When Anos noticed Hero Kanon approaching, he told Shin to find Reno while he dealt with Kanon.^[1]

Following Anos' sacrifice to activate Beno Ievun, many of his followers either reincarnated to serve him in the new era or made their way to Aharthern, as they all agreed to Hero Kanon's plan of becoming the false Demon King Avos Dilhevia to save Anos. This way, his followers would avoid interacting with Anos until the plan was completed.

Synopsis[]

Hero Academy Arc[]

When Azesion declared war against Dilhade, the Royalists and the Demon Lords gathered the Demon King Army, which made it's way towards Azesion as they were being led by their false demon king "Avos Dilhevia" and three of the Seven Demon Elders. As per Anos' orders, his loyal followers crippled several of the army's troops while Anos personally crippled the main attack force before finally confronting Avos, to which he would learn it's actually Hero Kanon's reincarnation Lay Grandsley. The two fought against one another, which led to Anos allowing Lay to slay him to finally bring a final end to the conflict between humans and demons. Elio Ludwell, the Demon Lord of Midhaze, honored the wishes of his demon king and ordered his men to retreat, and yet even with the demon king's death, the conflict was far from over. Diego cuts off his adjutant's arm when he disagreed with Diego. Despite achieving their goal of killing the Demon King of Tyranny and making the Demon Army retreat, Diego called for the continuation of war until their enemies were annihilated. This led to the resurrection of the fallen hero Jerga, who continued on with the war with the intent of wiping out all of the demons as he planned for two thousand years. During the conflict, the Demon King Army finally learned the truth of Avos Dilhevia as they aided in protecting the human soldiers who's hope were being forcibly drained by Jerga. Ultimately, the true Demon King Anos Voldigoad was resurrected as planned and he worked with Lay to finally put an end to Jerga's senseless madness once and for all. Upon returning to Dilhade, Elio and the entire army knelt before their demon king and pleaded for his forgiveness for their negligence towards him, Anos forgave his troops and settled with them serving him for the rest of their lives as a form of redemption.

Great Spirit Arc[]

After the Great Spirit Avos Dilhevia awakened, her spirit powers allowed her to exert influence over anything associated in legend with the Demon King of Tyranny. Due to the being renown as Demon King's personal troops, the members of the army fell under her influence as one half of the troops teleported back to Demon Castle Delsgade in order to defend her while the other half tried to stop their original lord, Anos. However, they were held back by Aeges Code, who promised Anos that he wouldn't kill them in respect for his kindness. Avos positioned the troops in front of Delsgade in the event that Anos and companions tried to perform a frontal assault, as she hoped that he would exhaust his magic power while fighting them and being forced to hold back due to them being brainwashed. She also had groups of troops patrol inside of Delsgade in the event that Anos managed to find an alternate way in. Little did she know, that not all were under her influence as Anos' Magical Age followers, a few from the Army itself, were secretly aiding him into Delsgade. In addition, a number of Anos' Mythical Age reincarnated followers, whose memories and powers were awakened, began to aid their true master in rescuing all the imprisoned hybrid demons.
