A Rematch (二度目の勝負, Futatabime no Shōbu) is the 9th chapter of The Misfit of Demon King Academy manga adaptation.
Summary[]
Anos figures out that Misha was originally Sasha, as Sasha unilaterally dissolved their Zecht without consequences, which could only be possible if you made a contract with yourself. He also figures out that the one responsible for separating them into two is Ivis Necron and that they will eventually return to being one. Misha confirms his suspicions and reveals that she will disappear on her 15th birthday.
She thanks him for the precious time they spent together and accepts her fate. However, Anos refuses to let the first friend he made die and promises to make her wish come true — to make up with Sasha. After catching up to Sasha, Misha asks her if she truly hated her, but Sasha doesn't respond. Instead, she challenges Anos to another match. If he can activate her casting circle, he wins and she will answer Misha's question; otherwise, he will have to cast a spell for her. Anos accepts and seals their contract with Zecht.
After Sasha finishes drawing the circle, Anos activates it and wins. To make sure she doesn't lie, he uses Leaks to read her mind and learns of Sasha's true feelings towards Misha. She is thankful to Misha for being by her side when they were little, as she was alone because she couldn't control her Destructive Sight.
The magic circle Sasha drew was to make Misha the original target of the separation spell, essentially giving her life to Misha. However, the other condition was for Misha to reject her, and that's why she was hostile towards her little sister. Sasha then hugs Misha and tearfully tells her that she always hated her when in reality, she loved her. Despite lying, Sasha isn't punished because Anos dissolves Zecht.
