Cartinas Irvena (カルティナス・イルベナ Karutinasu Irubena?) is the Sovereign of the Silver Castle World Balandias. He is also known as the Immovable King (不動王 Fudō-ō?)
Appearance[]
Cartinas looks like a short man with a short mustache. He wears luxurious clothes, Pablohetara's badge, and the school emblem of a castle.[1]
Personality[]
Cartinas was a highly arrogant person who looked down upon shallow world residents and even his own subordinates, whom he treated as pawns. Sly and shameless, Cartinas used underhanded methods to bring Balandias to its current position, becoming infamous in Pablohetara for picking on newcomers.
History[]
At some point, Cartinas was chosen by the Chief God Maytilen to become Balandias' Sovereign. Under his leadership, Balandias reached the 21st layer and became a powerful deep world. However, he did so by targeting weak small worlds and using other dirty tricks, earning the Tiger Castle Academy the nickname of "paper-mâché tiger" and the disgrace of being a deep world that only preys on the weak. Despite the humiliation, his vassals kept silent because they believed they were doing it for the sake of Balandias.
He would eventually discover Farris' talents in a cold village and seize the mementos from his deceased comrades, using them to blackmail Farris into serving Balandias. With Farris' Sky Fortress Zeridhavens, Balandias' castle fleet became even stronger.
Synopsis[]
Silver Water Holy Sea Arc[]
When Anos attempts to communicate with Balandias' Sky Fortress, Cartinas bumps the ship into the Demon King Train and leaves, telling them to know their place. The next day, on the day of his lecture, Cartinas recognizes Anos and becomes angry. However, he bursts into laughter upon hearing that Anos' world was equivalent to a bubble world and that he was a misfit, so Anos silences him by kicking his shoe into his mouth.
To their settle their dispute, Cartinas challenges Anos to the Silver Water Hierarchy War. Ottlulu gives Anos a day to learn, but this enrages Cartinas. He attempts to crush her neck for interfering, but Misa saves her. Nevertheless, Anos signs the contract and Ottlulu schedules their battle for tomorrow. Afterward, Cartinas starts the lecture and shows the class Balandias' hieroglyphics and the spell Balandialta, telling Anos to learn deep magic if they want a chance at defeating them.
In the Silver Water Hierarchy War, Cartinas loses 17 castle ships due to underestimating Anos and pushing recklessly without a strategy. Fed up, Zymon and the other castle lords refuse to follow his orders any longer and rebel. Cartinas threatens to slaughter their families if they don't grovel and beg for forgiveness, but he is struck from behind and imprisoned inside a painting by Farris, who assumes the role of the fleet's commander. When the fight is over, Anos releases Cartinas so he can surrender, but the Immovable King still intends to fight to the end. However, he turns pale when Anos shows him Maytilen's skull and destroys it, burning away everything he accomplished and his ambitions. He is then arrested by the castle lords.
Abilities[]
Magic[]
- Balandialta: The highest level of castle-building magic in Balandias, it creates a castle that will never fall even if the world is destroyed. Because it incorporates the Reverse Flow Formula, it can even be used in shallow worlds.[2]
Relationships[]
Farris Noin[]
Cartinas feels threatened by Farris due to his superior skills and the fact that he would've been a better Sovereign than him. He believes he "owns" Farris, telling him not to think and obey his orders. Farris could leave if he didn't like it, but Cartinas will use the castles from Farris' deceased comrades, who built them for art and not war, effectively holding them hostages against Farris. He also threatens to shatter his fingers so he could never hold a castle sword again.[3]

Trivia[]
- There were a lot of misfits in Balandias, but Cartinas killed them all with his own hands because they were insignificant compared to conformists like him.[1]
